Sending Units for Maintenance or Repair to Us

If you live out of our Service area in Washington State or elsewhere in the United States, please
follow these recommendations. Sorry for the rest of you folks on Earth, we may tool up for the
other video formats if a viable demand for the service of this equipment exists.

Camcorders

• Enclose a statement of the problem or requested service inside the shipping container.
  It should also have your name, mailing address (street, city, state, zip) telephone number, and
  e-mail address, and a list of what you are sending to us.

• If you are shipping a camcorder, include the charger and batteries only if you suspect they
  are part of the problem with the unit (saves on cost of shipping) or the batteries are very
  unique or out of production. * Email us with any questions!

• Pack the unit very well. The box that it came in is usually not sufficiently padded for shipping.
  Our experience has shown us to pack the camcorder or device in a small plastic bag to keep dust and packing materiel out of the equipment. Then put the camcorder in a box and pad with packing materiel if there is any motion of the camcorder in the box. Then pack that box within a larger one with padding for that box. If you are including batteries or other materiel it is best if you put these in the larger box not in with the camcorder.
  The larger box should be strong not an old beat up one. We have found that these procedures keep the
  equipment safe from that gorilla that you see in the commercials beating up on luggage.
  In an effort to help with the planet's resources, we attempt to recycle packing materiel when at all possible and when it does not compromise with safety of your equipment.

• Ship the unit to us insured for the estimated value of the unit, U.S. Postal Service's Priority Mail or shipper of your choice..

• The Post Office now has inexpensive Delivery Verification which gives pretty good tractability.

VCR's

• All the directions above apply to VCR's as well, with a few exceptions.

• Do include a remote control for the VCR as these are needed to set tracking
  and other functions on the machine.

• Do not send hookup cables, etc., unless you suspect they are part of the problem.

  Pack very well, VCR's are usually heavier than camcorders !
